There comes a time in every gamer’s life where they must embrace the age-old cliche and spend time blasting away alien monsters. Luckily, 8-Bit Invaders! looks set to make that stereotypical exercise and entertaining and explosive experience.
8-Bit Invaders! is part of Petroglyph Games’ ongoing 8-Bit series of real-time strategy titles. Following in the footsteps of 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes, blocky characters that look like they’ve escaped from a decades-old game are the order of the day here.
The theme for this particular entry in the franchise is alien warfare, and the trailer below shows off some of the game’s many different vehicles and its vast array of weaponry. We see tons of 1950s’ sci-fi inspired designs while flying saucers and gargantuan bugs clash with heavily armed tanks and walking mechs as the Cranioids clash with the Galactic Marine Corps on the battlefield.
Along with all the fun that one might expect from a war between machines and aliens, you can also take your military online to engage in combat with 8-Bit Hordes and 8-Bit Armies players through the series’ cross-title play feature.
8-Bit Invaders! will be launching for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 26, 2019. If you haven’t already picked up the earlier entries in the colorful series; they are also available on console now. All three titles are available on PC.
