Koei Tecmo published the second Japanese trailer for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World, the game celebrating the Atelier series’ 20th anniversary.
As a reminder, Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists is a town building, managing simulation featuring game protagonist Nelke von Lestamm and characters from past Atelier games, including Mana Khermia 1 and 2. There are over 100 characters in total.
Various elements must be considered in order to build Westwald into a successful town, like placing the buildings wisely and assigning the most adequate characters to them. You can build roads, landmarks, ateliers, shops and more. You’ll also need to explore outside town to gather materials and assign alchemists to transform them into sellable products, as Nelke herself cannot use alchemy. Nelke will receive an overview of Westwald’s situation every week with a report containing information like the town’s demography or income.
You can watch the new trailer below. If you’d like o see more, a gameplay video of the game’s English version was previously published. You can also check out the game’s opening animation sequence and read our interview with Producers Keisuke Kikuchi and Junzo Hosoi.
Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World launches for PS Vita, PS4 and Switch in Japan on January 31, 2019. In the west, the game will be available starting March 26, 2019, for PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam. The Vita version didn’t make it.
