After a rocky start, the Fortnite Summer Skirmish took off, offering eight weeks of competition for a total of $8 million in prize money. While the summer may be wrapping up, Epic Games is gearing up for the next competitive event, the Fall Skirmish.
Epic is light on details at the moment, promising more information to arrive over the week. One detail that the developer dropped was the total amount of money being offered: an increase to $10 million. The Fall Skirmish will last over six weeks.
Expect the format to be similar to that of the Summer Skirmish: streamers, professional players, influencers, and other exceptional Fortnite players will compete in matches of rotating modes and set-ups. The final week of the Summer Skirmish ended during this year’s PAX West.
Competitors in the Fall Skirmish will have new toys to utilize: grappling hooks, Rifts-To-Go, and new weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle. In other news, players can try out the new High Stakes limited time mode, or grab some real-life merchandise like the Fortnite-themed Monopoly set and Nerf guns.
The weather may be cooling down, but the battle is heating up 🍂🔥. Fall Skirmish starts soon, with $10,000,000 awarded across 6 weeks. Stay tuned for major details dropping later this week!
