SEGA and Sumo Digital will once again be showing off their upcoming racing game Team Sonic Racing at Gamescom, which runs in Cologne, Germany from August 21 until August 25. Ahead of the game’s appearance there, the developers have unveiled and unveiled screenshots for Team Vector and a brand new stage called Ice Mountain.
Team Vector does take a different form in Team Sonic Racing. While Vector the Crocodile is still on the team, Charmy Bee and Espio the Chameleon have been dropped in favor of Blaze the Cat and Silver the Hedgehog. Both Team Vector and Team Rose, which was unveiled back in June, will be playable to Gamescom attendees, as will the Ice Mountain stage.
Team Sonic Racing drops the crossover nature of previous Sonic racing games and instead opts to, as the title suggests, have a more team-based structure. You can learn more about how that mechanic works in a recent gameplay video, and see our impressions of Team Sonic Racing and that mechanic from E3 2018.
You can see Team Vector and Ice Mountain in action in the screenshots below. Team Sonic Racing will hit PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime this Winter, and it can already be pre-ordered on Amazon.
