Fornite has only grown in popularity over the past year, and as the game’s player base has gotten bigger, so too has the amount of new content providing fresh weapons and items to enjoy.
Epic Games has detailed the latest update for Fortnite (v4.5), with the update adding a new weapon to Battle Royale in the form of a drum gun SMG, while the game’s Save the World mode is also getting several items in store for players, such as the Stink Bomb and some new Fourth of July-inspired cosmetics.
Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS, with a forthcoming Android version on the way later this year. For a closer look at what the latest update has in store, you can check out the patch notes below:
Battle Royale
WEAPONS + ITEMS
- Drum Gun added
- The Drum Gun is a hybrid weapon that combines the stopping power of a rifle with the suppressive ability and fire rate of an SMG.
- Available in Uncommon and Rare variants.
- 26/27 base damage.
- 50 round capacity.
- Uses Medium Ammo.
- Can be found from floor loot, chests, and Vending Machines.

- Stars and Stripes Constructor has been added to the Event Store.
- Stars and Stripes Penny – Legendary Electro-Pulse.
- Available July 4, at 8pm ET.
- Stars and Stripes Outlander has been added to the Event Store.

Stink Bomb added
- Hurls a grenade that unleashes a cloud that damages enemies over time. Doesn’t persist outside of missions.

Freedom’s Herald Pistol added to the Weekly Store.
- Launches firecrackers that bounce off walls, and will knockback and damage enemies in a small radius when they explode.
