Warriors Orochi 4 will bring more Musou action on Nintendo Switch, and the game appears to be displaying quite a lot of enemies on screen as usual for the franchise.
During an interview at E3 2018, DualShockers asked Producer Masaki Furusawa about the resolution and frame rate we can expect on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Furusawa-san explained that the development team is aiming to achieve 1080p in docked mode, and 720p in portable mode. As for framerate, they’re aiming for 60 FPS.
He also explained through a translator that the challenges of bringing this kind of game to Nintendo Switch, mentioning that the visual detail will also be lower compared to other platforms.
“Because of the lower specs of the Switch, our biggest challenge is keeping the frame rate [stable] because we want to preserve the action of the game as much as possible without it being affected. Of course the lower specs will also lower the graphics of the game.”
It’ll be certainly interesting to see what the game will look like when the Nintendo Switch version will be released, considering how much effort Koei Tecmo is making to support the Switch.
Just today we learned that Warriors Orochi 4 will launch for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 16th in North America and 19th in Europe. We also heard about the lessons the development team learned from Dynasty Warriors 9 and Warriors All-Stars.
The game can currently be pre-ordered on Amazon.
