8BitD specializes in creating retro-style Bluetooth controllers for gamers to use on their retrospective consoles or PCs. Now, it looks like the company is partnering with Microsoft and creating a controller designed to work with xCloud, Microsoft’s game streaming service that is set to officially launch later this year.

Per The Verge, the controller will be compatible with all Android smartphones and tablets. Additionally, it is officially licensed as an xCloud and Xbox controller. The controller will be charged by a USB-C cable and should last around 18 hours on a full charge. It will come with a clip to attach to phones as well.

The new controller from 8BitDO will be $44.99 and is available for preorder on Amazon right now. Devices should be shipping on September 21st. However, the launch date is unrelated to the launch plans of xCloud.

The company has worked with Mircosoft to make sure that the new controller is fully functional with xCloud. There will even be software that owners will be able to use that will allow button mapping and to adjust the stick and trigger sensitivity. On top of that, it will also support profiles that save custom button loadouts so different users can switch them on the fly.

8BitDo creates excellent products. I own a couple myself because I just love the feel of the D-Pads on the controller. In my opinion, no controller has come close to recreating the fantastic feeling of the D-Pad from the SNES days. The SN30 and SN30 Pro controllers come the closest to recreating that magic. Depending on how much I log into xCloud, I might be picking one of these bad boys up.
