Natsume announced that they will launch River City: Rival Showdown in west for Nintendo 3DS this November.
Released in Japan as Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP, River City: Rival Showdown take the original story of River City Ransom and mixes new story paths as well as new endings, and upgrades the fighting system to include the newer system that have been introduced in the series.
The game’s premise follows main protagonist Kunio as he is attack by two mysterious individuals. These events and along with the disappearance of his girlfriend causes Kunio to search out the truth, and he has three days to do it.
The game features side-scrolling beat-em-up segments along with RPG systems as the character levels up and upgrades stats.
“We are very excited for players to battle their way through River City: Rival Showdown,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “The River City franchise has changed a lot since when it first debuted, but our fans will be happy to see classic Kunio-Kun elements in this new game as well.”
The publisher details the other new feature:

River City: Rival Showdown will launch in the west physically and digitally, the physical edition come with a limited edition keychain.
