1979 Revolution: Black Friday has a story based in truth — beginning with the historical events in 1978 Tehran, Iran’s Islamic Revolution. It gives players a lot of choices, and in turn, a lot of consequences. Will you maintain order through the path you choose to take, or will you fail in this world of choice and change the fates of those around you?

Taking place during the Islamic Revolution of Iran in the 1970s, you play through the eyes of Reza Shirazi. He is a young photojournalist who discovers his people protesting the Shah upon returning home to Tehran. Your weapon is a camera, and your job is to capture each emotional story and often inhuman event as you see it.

Navid Khonsari (a veteran of game development includes working on Alan Wake, Bully, GTA: Vice City, Max Payne, and even Resident Evil 7) is the writer and director of 1979 Revolution: Black Friday. Interestingly, he comes in with the bold claim that this title looks to create a new genre. On another interesting note, Navid’s brainchild is considered as ‘pro-American propaganda’ in Iran and has been banned, along with Navid Khonsari being accused as a spy for the United States.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday has collected a plethora of awards and honorable mentions in the past for its phenomenal voice acting, writing, and storytelling. Included are the 2017 Facebook Game of the Year winner, an Offical Selection at the Sundance Film Festival, the 16 Bit Award for Best PC Game, and was even nominated for Best Performer at BAFTA.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday is created by iNK Stories, the company co-founded by Navid Khonsari, and published by Digerati. It releases in spring of 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One.
